ZINEDINE ZIDANE OR JURGEN KLOPP: REAL MADRID PLOTS MANAGERIAL MOVE AFTER CELTA VIGO LOSS

Xabi Alonso's job is hanging by a thread after a 2-0 loss sparked an emergency Real Madrid board meeting. A defeat to Man City will mean his immediate dismissal.

Zinedine Zidane or Jurgen Klopp: Real Madrid Plots Managerial Move After Celta Vigo Loss
Alonso Faces Sack If Real Madrid Lose to City UCL.

Xabi Alonso's job at Real Madrid is on the line because he's supposedly lost the support of the team.

A big Champions League game against Manchester City will decide if he stays.

Spanish news source El Mundo says that after a rough 2-0 loss at home to Celta Vigo, Madrid's leaders had an emergency meeting early Monday.

They almost fired him, but decided to wait. Losing to City on Wednesday means he's out.

If Alonso is out, Madrid might bring back Zinedine Zidane or Jurgen Klopp to calm things down.

Zidane knows the club well, but he might get his dream job as the France national team coach since Didier Deschamps is likely to leave after the 2026 World Cup.

He could coach Real Madrid temporarily until the end of the season, and then Madrid could hire a permanent coach.

That could be Klopp, even though he's enjoying time off with Red Bull. The chance to coach Los Blancos might be attractive to him.

Alonso only took over in the summer after Carlo Ancelotti left and got lots of support in the transfer market, especially to strengthen the ageing defence.

Everyone expected them to dominate, especially with Kylian Mbappe continuing his great performance from last season.

But Madrid's season has gone downhill. Even though they quickly took the La Liga lead, they've only won one of their last five games.

Los Blancos went from leading Barcelona by five points to trailing them by four in just over a month.

Sunday's loss to Celta in front of angry fans at the Bernabeu was the final straw. The players don't trust Alonso's ways.

Several important Madrid players, like Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes, are struggling. This has put the leaders in a difficult position.

Alonso's attempt to stabilise the team hasn't been helped by Eder Militao's injury, who has reportedly torn his hamstring.

The Brazilian defender will be out for a while, and his absence might force Madrid to look for a new centre-back.

WHY REAL MADRID FORCED A "GUARANTEED STARTS" CLAUSE IN ENDRICK’S LYON LOAN

Endrick joins Lyon on a 6-month loan for €1M! The No. 9 striker targets a World Cup spot after leaving Xabi Alonso's bench.

Endrick Snubbed Premier League Giants for a Lyon Move

Okay, so Endrick's loan from Real Madrid is now official, just like everyone thought. The Brazilian kid is heading to Lyon in France until the season ends.

Word got out weeks ago that the deal was done, even before the transfer window opened. Now, with the window about to open, the clubs and Endrick said it themselves. The 19-year-old wants to play in Lyon's first game next year.

He'll be back in Madrid after this season. The idea is for him to play a lot and grow as a player.

Real Madrid signed Endrick in 2024 when he turned 18, but they'd had an agreement since he was 16. All the big clubs wanted him, but he's a Real Madrid fan, so his mind was made up.

People thought he'd play a bigger role this season. Even though he played a little, he hasn't really stepped up from being a substitute, first under Carlo Ancelotti, and now he's playing even less under Xabi Alonso.

The young guy started in the Copa del Rey recently and impressed Alonso. But they agreed a loan was the best thing. BeiN Sports says the club thinks this is a good way for Endrick to get better, not a step back. They believe in him and think this loan will help him get back on track.

Lyon sees this as a way to push Endrick to his best so he can get a spot on the World Cup team this summer. They're ten points behind the league leaders and five points from the Champions League spots. If they have a good second half of the season, they might get back into Europe's top competition.

Lyon will pay around $1.1 million (€1 million), which covers half of his wages for the six-month loan. He'll be wearing the No. 9 shirt.

Both teams are hoping this works out, with Real Madrid possibly getting a better player for the 2026-27 season.

BREAKING: DEAL DONE! LYON PAY €1M TO SECURE REAL MADRID WONDERKID UNTIL JUNE

Real Madrid’s €60m gem Endrick has joined Lyon on a 6-month loan. No buy option included as he seeks World Cup form.

Endrick Joins Lyon

Lyon got Endrick on loan for six months, until June 2026. They're paying Real Madrid €1 million, and they'll cover about half of his salary.

There's no option or obligation to buy him, so Madrid still controls their €60 million investment from summer 2024. He's still under contract with them until 2030.

The deal includes a guaranteed playing time clause. Paulo Fonseca, the coach, sees him as the future main striker after Lacazette and Mikautadze left this summer.

This move fits well with Lyon's aim to finish in the top five in Ligue 1. They've won eight out of 16 games and are ten points behind Lens. Endrick should give their attack a boost after the winter break.

Why he left Madrid

Endrick didn't get much playing time at Madrid under Xabi Alonso. He only played in one La Liga game and came on as a substitute in the Champions League because he was recovering from a hamstring injury.

Alonso said to be patient because he had tough competition from Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo. Even though he was doing well in training, he didn't get many chances.

He wanted to play regularly to get back into Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for the national team.

Arsenal and Chelsea were interested, but he picked Lyon because they're in the Europa League and have Brazilian players there already, like Emerson and Abner. This should make it easier for him to adjust.

What's next?

Endrick hopes to play his first Ligue 1 game against Monaco in January. He's expected to fit into Fonseca’s attack after the winter break, using his scoring skills he learned in Brazil. If he does well, he could return to Madrid's first team or attract interest from other clubs. Scouts like his skills in the air, ability to hold up the ball, and finishing ability. He is just 19.

Madrid thinks this loan will help him grow, despite the early setback. Lyon hopes that wanting to play in the World Cup will motivate him to make an impact right away. People all over Europe think this short loan could change his career for both club and country.
